I want to book food drops too with my transfer. Where I can book those?You can book food drops during the booking of your transfer, during the process you will be able to add and select food drops, storage key and box retrieval. Otherwise, you can book only food drops without transfer, write us where are you planning to have the food drops and we’ll send you a specific link to make the booking.

How do we get the boxes and the key? When will you do the boxes drop off?Once you’ll book the food drops and key, we’ll deliver those at the reception of your accommodation the day before your arrival in Alice Springs. If you have booked a transfer from Alice Springs (East to West), then when we’ll pick you up for the transfer we’ll also pick up your boxes to do the food drops on our way back to town. If you have booked a transfer from any trailhead back to Alice Springs (West to East), you’ll need to write us on info@outbackelitetours.com and let us know your arrival date in town and the date of when you’ll start the hike. We’ll pick up the boxes from your accommodation to do the drop-offs the same day/morning that you’ll leave for the hike.

Do I need to label the boxes?No, the boxes will be already labelled with your name and drop-off location. You simply have to pack those accordingly.

How big are the boxes?Each box has a 50 litre capacity, which usually is enough to fit food and items for 1 up to 3 pax. For group of 4 and over we do recommend more than 1 x box per location. If your items and/or food won’t fit, it means you‘ll need an extra box. Please contact us if you realised that this could be the case, and we’ll deliver extra boxes. Do not over fill and/or force to close the boxes, that will incur in a $50 fee that will be charged to the same credit card used for the booking.

How much are the food drops?Food drops when booked together with a transfer are $95 per location and this includes 1 x $ 50-litre box per location. Any extra 50-litre box per location is an extra $50 Food drops only with no transfer are $120 per location and this includes 1 x $ 50-litre box per location. How much is the box retrieval?Box retrieval is $50 per box, no matter the location.

Do I need to book a storage key to access the storage locations?Except for Standley Chasm, you’ll need a storage key to access Ellery Creek South, Serpentine Gorge and Ormiston Gorge. You only need to book 1 x key to access all the storage rooms.

How much is the storage key? And how many do I need?Storage key is $85 ($35 admin fee + $50 deposit) You only need 1 key, the lock is the same in every location

Do I need to book a box retrieval?Box retrieval is optional. If you are planning to leave gears in the boxes that you’ll need back to your accommodation at the end of your hike then you will need to book retrieval and you will need to let us know by when and where you need the box(es) back. After you’ll make a booking write to us with this information at info@outbackelitetours.com If you are planning to leave just rubbish in the boxes, then you don’t need to book the box retrieval service

What if I change my mind during the hike and decide to have a box retrieval?Let us know by texting or sending us an e-mail. If you can’t leave a clear note in your box with the date and where you’ll need the box back. We’ll update your booking by charging $50 per box on the same credit card previously used.

Can I leave rubbish in the boxes?Yes, you can leave rubbish in the boxes as far as everything is inside a rubbish bag. Loose rubbish left in the boxes will incur a $50 fee that will be charged to the same credit card used for the booking.

How can I return the storage key at the end of my hike?If we pick you up at the end of your hike, you’ll simply have to return the key to the driver. Then we’ll process the $50 refund to the same credit card used to make the booking. If your hike will end in town to your accommodation, leave the key in an envelope with your full name and leave it at the reception of your accommodation and send us an e-mail at info@outbackelitetours.com. We will then collect the key and process the $50 refund to the same credit card used to make the booking.

Where do you do food drops? Do you do food drops at Ellery Creek North?No, we only do food drops at Standley Chasm, Ellery Creek South, Serpentine Gorge and Ormiston Gorge

Can I leave my luggage with you? Can you store that for us until we finish the hike?Sorry, we don't have a storage room. However the majority of accommodations in Alice Springs allow to use their storage rooms for your luggage. Double check directly with your booked accommodation.

What time do you pick up from Redbank to Alice Springs?The pick up from Redbank is at 11 am. If you are planning to climb Mount Sonder for sunrise, this pick up time is enough for you to climb the top of the mountain, see the sunrise and hike back. Most likely you'll be back way before 11 am. If you are planning on a later pick up please let us know. Write us on info@outbackelitetours.com depending on availability, we may be able to accommodate your request.

What time is the pick up from town to Larapinta (any section)We do our pick up in town at 7.30 am. Please be ready at least 15 minutes earlier. You might not be the only pick up we have and if that is the case we could delay your pick up by some minutes. If you are planning on an earlier pick up please let us know. Write us on info@outbackelitetours.com depending on availability, we may be able to accommodate your request.
